Carrie Fitch, 77, of Tiffin, died at 7:29 a.m., Tuesday, August 28, 2012, at Tiffin Mercy Hospital.

Carrie was born in Pond Creek, KY on September 27, 1934 to the late Orval and Ople (Hensley) Thacker. She married Birgus Fitch on April 19, 1957 and he preceded her in death.

Carrie is survived by her children, Carolyn (Dave) Gibson of Tiffin, Benny (Virginia) Fitch of Tiffin, Birgus Fitch of Hamler, OH, Linda Mesnard of Tiffin, Madelen (Bud) Bolen of Tiffin, Meg (Wayne) Goble of Fostoria, Jewel (Eric) Strite of Medford, OR, Patricia Flugga of Tiffin, Kathy Fitch of Tiffin, Edna (Dave) Dodson of North Baltimore, twenty-six grandchildren, several great and great-great-grandchildren, two brothers, Verlin Thacker of Tiffin and Clarence Thacker of Johns Creek, KY.

Carrie worked at Autumnwood Care Center and the Daughters of America. Carrie was a member of Word Ministries.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, September 1, 2012 at the Engle-Shook Funeral Home and Crematory in Tiffin. Visitation for family and friends will be on Friday, from 4-8 p.m., at the funeral home. Burial will follow the services on Saturday, at Fairmont cemetery.
